Course Content

Childcare First aid course duration

Childcare First Aid is a thorough 6.5-hour course with plenty of practical demonstrations and hands-on experience. To successfully complete the course all candidates are required to perform a 2-minute CPR demonstration using a manikin at floor level. 

No Online Workbook or E-learning Required

To keep stress levels to a minimum there is no online testing prior to the course.  However, you will be required to undertake some mandatory pre-course reading which is accompanied by a short quiz.  The quiz can be completed whilst undertaking the reading and needs to be submitted on the day of training.  The time is taken to complete the quiz often varies depending on the individual’s prior knowledge, experience and learning.      

First Aid Certificate

As part of our dedication to providing high-quality first aid training, we make every effort to issue candidates with their course certification on the day of the training.  However, in order to do this, you need to provide your USI (Unique Student Identifier) number to us for verification at least 24 hours before the course commences.  All certificates are issued digitally via email but if required, paper copies are available to order at a cost of $12.00 each. 

USI Requirements

A USI (unique student identifier) the number is now a mandatory requirement for any student wishing to undertake vocational training. A USI number is unique to you and provided by the government to keep a secure online record of your VET certifications. Australian College of Nursing (ACN)

First Aid Pro Adelaide’s HLTAID004 – Childcare First Aid Course qualifies for 6.5 hours of continued professional development (CPD) and is fully endorsed by the ACN (Australian College of Nursing).

Childcare First Aid Content Covered

Our Childcare First Aid course covers all the essential skills to assess and manage an emergency situation in a childcare setting until professional help arrives. Topics covered include:
